What We Can Do
Occupational therapists help with barriers that affect a person’s emotional, social, and physical needs. OT can help people regain independence in all areas of their lives. To do this, they use everyday activities, exercises, and other therapies to help break down physical and emotional barriers.

How It Works
Innovative Occupational Therapy has a free 15 minute consultation about the services we provide. When we decide to work together, we will set up an appointment to do an assessment, come up with a plan of action, and start your therapy sessions. Additionally, we can provide educational handouts and assignments/carryover work as needed. The length of service and sessions is dependent on the individual, so custom plans are devised based on initial and on-going assessements.
1
Assessment
The occupational therapy process is based on initial and repeated assessments with a focus on the individual, environmental abilities, and problems related to activities in the person's daily life. Assessment includes the use of standardized procedures, interviews, observations in a variety of settings along with a consultation with significant people in the patient’s life.
2
Treatment
Based on the results of the assessment, a plan will be set that includes short- and long-term goals for treatment. Treatment is based on the person's development stage, habits, roles, and lifestyle preferences.
3
Cooperation
Occupational therapists recognize the importance of collaboration. Cooperation and coordination with other professionals, families, caregivers and volunteers are taken into consideration for our holistic approach.
